Accounts and sign-in

Usernames

Your username is your public handle; your profile lives at /people/<username>.

The rules: 3 to 24 characters, lowercase letters, digits and underscores only (a-z, 0-9, _). Usernames are unique, so saving fails if one is already taken.

Signing in

The web app supports email code sign-in. The Windows, macOS and Android apps and the web app share one account, so your timetable, friends and settings follow you without setting anything up again on each device.

What is in your profile

Display name, username, avatar, calendar colour, campus, major, year of study, birthday, bio and a status line.

Note

These are not all public. Who sees what is governed by the switches in Visibility settings — including one that controls whether you can be found by search at all.

The profile page, and where username and campus are set

First run

The first time you sign in there is a short setup step (username, campus and so on). Until it is finished, opening settings takes you back to it.
