Subscribing to a course feed
Once subscribed, RUFREE checks the course’s Quercus Announcements regularly and tries to pull exam times and rooms out of them and into your calendar.
What you need first
Section titled “What you need first”The course has to be in your active timetable. Without an imported timetable, or without that course in it, you cannot subscribe.
Getting the link
Section titled “Getting the link”-
Open the course’s Announcements page in Quercus.
-
Find and copy the RSS / feed link on that page.
It looks like this:
https://q.utoronto.ca/feeds/announcements/enrollment_XXXXXXXX.atom截图待补 · screenshot pendingfeeds-subscribe-01Where the RSS link sits on the Quercus Announcements page -
Paste it into the course in RUFREE and preview first.
The preview reads Quercus once and reports the course code, section, term, how many posts there are and how many look exam-related. It exists so you can confirm you pasted the right course.

Save once it looks right.
RUFREE starts reading posts and looking for exam details immediately.
When the link is rejected
Section titled “When the link is rejected”RUFREE only accepts the Quercus announcements format above. The usual mistakes:
- copying the course home page address instead of the feed
- copying the calendar feed (
.ics), which is a different thing - a truncated link
Rate limit
Section titled “Rate limit”Up to 8 previews or saves per minute per person. Repeated attempts are held off briefly; wait a moment and try again.
Refreshing and removing
Section titled “Refreshing and removing”RUFREE checks on its own schedule, and you can refresh by hand.
Removing a subscription warns you that exam times it set go back to the syllabus or ACORN time.
