Exam times and rooms

With a course feed subscribed, RUFREE checks new posts for exam times and rooms and updates the matching exam in your calendar.

What it needs

For an automatic update you need both:

  1. an exam already in your syllabus for that course (see Uploading a syllabus)
  2. a course feed subscribed for that course

Times found in posts are matched against syllabus exams; no match, no update.

What each outcome means

After each check RUFREE lists what it did with every post.

Outcome Meaning
Time announced; updated Found a time you did not have, and wrote it in
Time changed; updated and notified Differs from what you had; updated and notified you
Room or length updated Same time, corrected or added room or duration
Matches what you have The post agrees with your existing time
You undid this one; not reused You reverted this before, so it is not applied again
Older than the one in use; ignored A newer post already took effect

When it skips

Outcome Meaning
For another section The post is about a different section
No matching syllabus exam Nothing to attach it to
AI was unsure Confidence too low to risk writing
Quote not found in the post Could not verify it against the original text
No exact time The post mentions the exam but gives no time
Date outside the term Falls outside the term range
Implausible end time The duration does not make sense
Section unclear Could not tell which section it refers to

Undoing an update

Any applied result can be undone. The exam reverts to its previous time and that post will not be applied again.

Surname for exam seating

Section titled “Surname for exam seating”

Some courses split exam rooms by surname. You can store one (up to 60 characters) and RUFREE uses it to work out which room is yours. Leaving it empty affects nothing else.
